The goal of our Daily Fitness Sessions is to maintain your dog's fitness and good
health, not to log miles. With this in mind we will give you a recommendation of how much time your dog needs to
spend with us per week after our "Evaluation Run" during your introductory meeting.
When your dog starts our program we will begin by slowly building up his or her endurance; think of interval
training. Our fitness sessions begin with a warm up walk and end with a cool down on the way back home.
Our staff of Endurance Athletesare trained to watch your dog carefully for any signs
of discomfort including; dehydration, overheating, and fatigue. If they see any signs of struggling, tiring, or
erratic behavior they will end the work out immediately and leave an appropriate entry in the daily progress
report. An entry is left in the progress report (Running Log) after each run detailing the days workout and bowel
movements.
Although our Daily Fitness Sessions are tailored specifically for your pet it is
important to address a few questions prior to starting the program.
- What is the current fitness level of your dog? Does he or she run frequently or almost never?
What does his or her daily exercise typically consist of?
- Has your pet recently had a check up at the vet? If it's been longer than six months we encourage you to
have his or her heart, lungs, joints, etc. checked by your veterinarian before starting him or her out on
our, or any new, fitness program.
